I came across this quote today from an old sermon preached by my pastor. It’s pure gold, so I wanted to record it for future reference. He’s paraphrasing John Owen,

There were two great pastoral problems to deal with. One is convincing non-Christians that they are sinners, and the other is convincing true believers that they are no longer under the dominion of sin, but that they are in union and fellowship and communion with Jesus Christ.
