Next to this this quote, in my copy of the above cited book, there is the following little note in the margin:  4-12-13.

I don’t remember much about that day. What I do remember it this – I was tired. I was ‘weary in well-doing.’ I laid down in my bed to rest, but my soul didn’t feel at rest. I read this quote that night because my normal practice is to read myself to sleep. That night this little quote helped me rest. It’s ringing in my mind has helped me to rest many nights since.
